Reaching the City

Since NEO360 exists to be a catalyst for a global city-reaching movement through kingdom advancing church planting, we must clearly define what it means to reach a city and see it transformed.

Transformation Definition

The Gospel holistically transforming the hearts of individuals, creating an authentic documentable change in the practices of society.

Why the City?

Theologically:
  • NEO360 believes cities are ordained by God to be a place of refuge for the weak. We believe God ordained cities for cultural and human development. (Heb. 11:10; Rev 21)

Practically:
  • Cities wield immense influence within a region, for both good and evil. Cities act as a central hub for human and cultural development.

Old Assumption / New Reality

Often the assumption is made that starting new churches will always result in transformed cities. But transformed cities do not happen by simply drawing a crowd of people and starting a worship service. The NEO strategy believes transformative new churches are the means to transformed cities.

Transformation through Domain Engagement

Domains make the building blocks of a society and create a place for the church to apply the transforming Gospel of Jesus Christ through research, planning and engagement. This process allows the church to understand and meet a community’s deepest needs. Collaborative efforts within societal domains allow the church to holistically integrate itself into society in order to demonstrate the transforming power of the Gospel.

NEO360 and Transformation

Since NEO360 is a catalyst, it does not engage domains directly but starts churches to engage community domains to see holistic transformation. Instead of starting churches just to meet the needs of its attending people, NEO360 starts churches that are literally birthed to serve communities through domain engagement. God is grieved by the injustice within communities, and we believe it is our job to follow His heart for social transformation.
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. Revelation 20:1-2
